The City of Grand Ledge has issued a request for sealed bid proposals concerning tree and brush removal services at the Willis Industrial Park, requiring comprehensive handling of vegetation over two outlined areas. The focus is on removing stumps for trees with a Diameter at Breast Height (DBH) over 6 inches, with smaller trees and brush to be ground level with the soil. Special attention is given to Area 1, which neighbors a flagged and regulated wetland, Wetland A, where removal is prohibited, while work in Wetland B, unregulated, is allowed. The tasks demand strict adherence to applicable disposal laws, and stumps removed must have their resulting cavities backfilled with topsoil. The submission process details the requirement for proposals to be sent as sealed packages or emailed, with a clear subject line, by October 23, 2024. The anticipated progression includes bid opening on the due date, followed by a tentative award decision by October 28, 2024. The overall project's completion is mandated by January 31, 2025. The industrial site can be accessed conveniently via noted routes, ensuring logistical ease for potential contractors.
