The Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to award a sole source purchase order to Stryker Corporation for specialized medical equipment used to remove thrombus during cerebrovascular accidents. The requirement includes Trevo XP ProVue Retrievers in multiple sizes, Flowgate Balloon Catheters, and Synchro 14 Neuro Wires. These specific devices are requested due to their low profile, open flex cell design, and fluoroscopic visibility, which are deemed essential for navigating tortuous brain vessels and minimizing vessel wall injury. Under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), the government has identified Stryker Corporation as the only source capable of meeting these technical specifications. While this notice serves as an intent to sole source, interested parties were invited to submit capability statements by July 14, 2016, to demonstrate their ability to perform the work. The required delivery date for the supplies was set for July 20, 2016.
