TSA Canine Training Center - Five (5) 18 stall trailers

The Transportation Security Administration is seeking five 18-stall canine transport trailers to expand and modernize its training program at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, replacing outdated equipment to meet growing operational needs. Each trailer must be engineered to safely transport 18 large canines, weighing between 70 and 80 pounds, with individual stalls allowing for adequate movement and comfort. Construction must adhere to strict federal standards including FMVSS, DOT, NHTSA, and NATM, featuring a welded aluminum alloy mainframe, steel underframe, tandem axles, stainless steel flooring and wall liners, insulated walls and doors, proper drainage, and protected edges to ensure the safety of both animals and handlers. Each trailer must carry a unique 17-digit serial number for traceability and compliance. The trailers must be equipped with a dual-door stall system featuring outward-opening doors, inner safety doors, tamper-resistant latches, and comprehensive ventilation. Climate control requires roof-mounted commercial HVAC units, a ducted air system with individually adjustable vents for every stall, roof vents, and an exhaust fan to maintain optimal temperatures. A commercial generator with an onboard fuel tank, shore power connectivity, LED exterior lighting, electric brakes with a breakaway system, rated tires with a spare, secure storage compartments, and wiring shielded from canine access are mandatory. All components must support frequent use, simplify cleaning, and provide a secure, durable, and environmentally controlled environment for canine transport throughout TSA’s training operations.
