Fisheries and Oceans Canada is looking to hire a Contractor in order to conduct an independent and comprehensive feasibility study which will explore the prospect of introducing a regulatory fee or levy (herein referred to as ‘fee’). The fee would be paid by the marine industry and would be used to fund activities that could include preparedness (for Indigenous and coastal community partners) along with response and recovery operations conducted by the Government of Canada and partners, in the context of marine pollution incidents. The fee would be under the legislative authority of the Minister of Fisheries, Oceans, and the Canadian Coast Guard.
