Tunner Aircraft Cargo Loader - Bridge

This requirement is for the procurement of Level 3 Performance Based Logistics (PBL) support for the Tunner 60K Aircraft Loader. Based upon Market Research, the Government is not using the policies and procedures contained in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in this solicitation. Contract Period of Performance: Basic Period - 12 months; Option I - 12 months The proposed requirement is for supplies and/or services which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate on a Sole Source basis, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, to the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the Tunner weapon system, DRS-SSI (CAGE Code: 98255), who is the current sustainment/overhaul contractor. The resulting contract will ensure continued weapon system availability while a competitive acquisition for long-term support is being awarded. Until a competitive award is made and other sources qualified, DRS-SSI is the only qualified source, and no other sources can provide the immediate need during the period of performance covered under this contract.
