Solicitation W912DW17Q0124, issued by the Department of Defense through the US Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District, concerns the procurement of Limitorque HBC4 worm gears or an approved equal for the Fish Ladder Outflow Valve at the Hiram M. Chittenden Locks in King County, Washington. The acquisition is necessary because the existing gearboxes have exceeded their service life and are nearing failure. Having replacements on hand is critical to minimize the duration the fish ladder is out of service once the original equipment fails. The procurement process included several amendments to the original request for quote, specifically regarding the quantity for CLIN 0001. While the initial requirement and subsequent Amendment 0001 called for two units, Amendment 0002 reduced the quantity to one unit. The established delivery deadline for the equipment was February 1, 2018, with the performance location situated in Seattle, Washington. This solicitation was designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 332911.
