The Department of Veterans Affairs' Network Contracting Office 3 at the James J. Peters VA Medical Center in Bronx, New York, intends to award a sole source firm-fixed-price contract to the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) for a twelve-month period, with no option extensions. This contract is issued under the authority allowing for sole source awards when only one responsible source meets agency requirements and no competing services are suitable. The procurement relates to the payment of the ASHP 2016 Annual Accreditation Fee associated with pharmacy residency programs, which are essential for accrediting and maintaining VA's extensive advanced clinical pharmacy training initiatives. The notice clarifies that while this is not a competition, interested parties may submit capability statements by the specified deadline, after which the government may proceed with exclusive negotiations with ASHP if no viable alternatives are presented. This contract supports the VA's largest pharmacy residency program, which annually trains approximately 333 residents across 83 ASHP-accredited residencies in diverse clinical specialties as well as advanced pharmacy fellowships.
