The USDA’s Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) plans to enter into a firm fixed price contract with the National Food Service Management Institute (NFSMI) at the University of Mississippi to conduct workshops for Regional Office Administered Program sponsors in three Virginia locations: Fairfax, Portsmouth, and Roanoke. The purpose of these workshops is to fulfill regulatory training requirements related to meal patterns and nutrition for programs such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program and the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs. NFSMI is uniquely qualified for this task as it is a federally funded institute dedicated to providing training and technical assistance in child nutrition programs, supported by expert staff and a network of specialized outside presenters. The contract is not a solicitation but a notice of intent to negotiate, emphasizing that awarding the work to any other provider would be cost prohibitive because of the necessary expertise and program familiarity. The contract aims to leverage NFSMI's ability to deliver timely, specialized training that meets federal program standards efficiently. All inquiries regarding this effort are to be made via email, with designated contacts including a Management Analyst and a Procurement Analyst from the USDA FNS. The contract pertains to NAICS code 561990 and is administered through the USDA office located in Alexandria, Virginia.
