The Directorate of Contracting at Fort Knox, Kentucky is conducting market research to determine availability of interested and qualified entities to provide onsite operation of an inmate training program that focuses on service dog training and anim al care at the Regional Corrections Facility located at Fort Knox, Kentucky. The contractor shall be capable of independently operating the inmate training program which includes instructing and certifying inmate students in the proper methods necessary t o adequately train service dogs. The program shall be operated in accordance with the Service/Assistance Dog Industry Standards. Services include, but are not limited to, teaching the inmates proper methods for training of mobility, hearing, seizure res ponse, medical response, and counterbalance assistance dogs, canine psychology, learning theory, social profiling, emotional management, leadership, animal husbandry, and human instructional techniques. The contractor shall be required to generalize these concepts into parenting and interpersonal skills. The contractor shall be required to deal frequently with inmate population.
