The Naval Sea Systems Command originally planned to issue a small business set aside solicitation in the latter half of fiscal year 2017 for the detailed design and construction of APL(S) barracks craft, classified under NAICS code 336611. These non-self-propelled vessels are intended to provide berthing and messing facilities to support sailors during ship availabilities and training cycles, specifically accommodating the crew of an aircraft carrier with berthing for about 600 personnel and messing for approximately 1,100 personnel. The craft would be towed to various bases or shipyards and feature extensive onboard facilities such as classrooms, administrative offices, medical complexes, entertainment areas, and fitness centers among other support spaces. The procurement was initially planned as a total small business set aside, with the objective of promoting participation from small businesses meeting the employment standard of 1,250 employees. However, as of May 10, 2017, NAVSEA updated their position and indicated that they would no longer pursue a competitive small business set-aside for this requirement. The original solicitation, designated N00024-17-R-2202, did not proceed to formal request for proposal issuance, and the government emphasized that there was no commitment to contract or assumption of costs related to proposal development. Points of contact for inquiries included contract officers Jessica M. Hathaway and Samantha Rye, and interested parties were directed to monitor updates via the federal business opportunities portal. The contract aimed to address critical infrastructure needs for naval ship crews but was ultimately retracted from the small business set aside competition process.

The Confederated Tribes of the Colville Reservation is soliciting proposals for the complete repower of a 30 foot Munson landing craft. The selected contractor will be responsible for the decommissioning and removal of two existing Honda BF250A outboard engines and the procurement and installation of two new Honda BF250D Drive-by-Wire outboards.
