NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD - SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The VHA SimLEARN program has identified a need to train medical personnel in the ultrasound techniques necessary for reaching accurate diagnostic conclusions. To satisfy this requirement, the Product Manager Office of Medical Simulation (PdM MedSim) specified the SonoSim ultrasound training solution. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 333318 - Other Commercial and Service Industry Machinery Manufacturing. It is anticipated that the contract type will be a single award Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract. This requirement is to purchase the following items: 1. SonoSim Ultrasound Training Solution 2. SonoSim LiveScan ACQUISITION APPROACH: The contract will be issued on a Sole Source basis in accordance with Title 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as cited in Federal Regulation Acquisition (FAR) 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Government intends to award a contract to SonoSim, Inc., 1738 Berkley St, Santa Monica, CA 90404. NOTICE: This notice is being provided to verify that no other sources can meet this requirement given the Government's required delivery schedule to meet the current need for these items.
