This is a best value procurement for 244 machined parts. The largest and most complex parts (up to 99" long, 15.5" diameter, 1400 lb) to be made from ASTM A668 forgings. Some parts require precision grinding of bearing race lands to .0005” to .001” roundness and cylindricity. Contractor responsible for procuring forgings, material certifications, machining, grinding, heat treating, inspection reports, and shipping to NASA Ames Research Center.
The Contractor shall furnish all material certifications, forgings, machining, grinding, heat treating, inspection reports, and shipping to NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, California, for all machined parts required by the UPWT wind tunnel model support systems. This is a best value procurement.
