AI Contract Overview
This contract covers the procurement of 40 units of universal handcuffs, identified by the National Stock Number (NSN) 8465-01-550-1224, to be delivered within 20 days FOB destination to a Military Police unit in Taylor, Michigan. The items must be individually tagged with bar-coded paper tags meeting specific durability and readability standards, including a 13-digit NSN and a 12-digit Government-assigned Universal Product Code (UPC). Packaging and labeling are governed by detailed DoD and DLA standards to ensure proper handling, with guidelines specifying the use of bleached sulfate paper tags and adherence to MIL-STD-129 for marking. Hazardous material requirements apply if relevant, otherwise packaging follows commercial ASTM D3951 standards. Inspections will follow FAR Part 52.246-2 standard procedures, transitioning from the canceled MIL-STD-105E sampling plan to newer standards such as MIL-STD-1916 or ANSI/ASQ Z1.4. The contract prohibits parcel post shipments, requiring traceable freight methods, and includes clear instructions for palletization, marking, and delivery points. The solicitation is managed under the Department of Defense through the Defense Logistics Agency, with points of contact and full compliance with technical and quality requirements as outlined in the contract documents and referenced DLA master lists.
