The Town of Cambridge is seeking bids for a culvert replacement project on Upper Pleasant Valley Road, located approximately 2.8 miles south of VT 108. The project involves replacing an existing 48-inch corrugated metal pipe with an 81-inch by 59-inch pipe arch, with the pipe supplied by the town based on a hydraulic study. Additional work includes constructing stone headwalls, hauling unsuitable soils to the town gravel pit, and replacing pavement to match existing thickness, with these elements to be bid separately on a lump sum basis. The project has a strict completion deadline of September 22, 2025, and must adhere to all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, as it is funded jointly by the town and the state of Vermont. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held on July 29, 2025, at the project site, and bids must be submitted by August 5, 2025. The town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and will evaluate submissions based on compliance, pricing, and other criteria, following a competitive proposals process rather than sealed bidding. The contract is valued between $150,000 and $300,000, and interested bidders can contact Highway Manager Eric Boozan for further information. The project aims to ensure a timely and compliant completion of the culvert replacement, with the award announced the day after bid submission.
