USCG Modern Shotgun System Acquisition

The U.S. Coast Guard is seeking to modernize its shoulder-fired weapon inventory by acquiring a commercial-off-the-shelf 12-gauge shotgun that mirrors the manual of arms and ergonomics of the M4 carbine, the service’s primary rifle. This transition aims to eliminate the training inefficiencies caused by current shotguns that differ significantly from the M4, thereby enhancing operator proficiency and operational effectiveness. The selected system must be fully integrated, including all necessary spare parts, maintenance kits, and technical manuals, to ensure seamless lifecycle support and compatibility with existing tactical equipment in use. The acquisition will be executed under an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract with a one-year base period and four optional one-year extensions, allowing for flexible ordering over time. The contract is fully set aside for small businesses, reflecting a commitment to supporting small business participation in federal procurement. All requirements are centered around improving readiness, reducing logistical complexity, and standardizing training across platforms.
