The USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS), in collaboration with the Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration, is developing a new specification for dry edible beans aimed at meeting the demand from school systems for very clean beans supplied to further processors. This initiative is part of the USDA Dry, Edible Beans, Peas, and Lentils Purchase Program, which seeks qualified vendors capable of supplying this product. Vendors must be approved USDA contractors and submit offers electronically through the Web-Based Supply Chain Management system (WBSCM). Early engagement with WBSCM is encouraged to facilitate the bidding process, and interested suppliers are urged to review all relevant requirements and solicitation documents carefully. The program anticipates scheduling orders and deliveries in the near term and highlights potential opportunities for continued business in subsequent years. All inquiries can be directed to the Small Business Coordinator, Dianna M. Price, who is the primary contact for vendor assistance. The USDA underscores its commitment to non-discrimination across all programs and offers accommodations for individuals with disabilities in communications. Vendors interested in participating are informed about the proper channels for submission, contract details, and compliance with USDA policies, ensuring equal opportunity and adherence to federal procurement standards.

Performance for bulk grain shipments must occur at federally or state licensed warehouses on the Commodity Credit Corporations authorized list. Contractors must adhere to strict federal anti-discrimination laws and DEI compliance standards, and they are subject to higher-level quality management systems monitored by the Federal Grain and Inspection Service.
