The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center, acting on behalf of the Department of Defense, intends to award a sole source contract to Jered, LLC for the procurement of repair parts for the Viewing Port and Shore Service Port Door of the USS ANCHORAGE (LPD-23). This acquisition, processed under FAR part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures and NAICS code 332312, involves the purchase of specific weldments, screws, pins, jam nuts, and ratchet assemblies. Because Jered, LLC is the Original Equipment Manufacturer, they are identified as the only source capable of providing parts that ensure an exact match in form, fit, and function for the existing equipment. The contract, identified by solicitation number N5523619Q0056, requires a delivery date of June 10, 2019. Performance is centered in San Diego, California. The procurement process included a special notice of intent to allow other vendors to demonstrate bona fide capability or equivalency, though the government determined that a sole source award was in its best interest due to the proprietary nature of the components. Eligibility for the award required active certifications in the System for Award Management.
