The contract pertains to the Phased Maintenance Availability (PMA) for the USS Bataan (LHD 05) for fiscal year 2018, reflecting requirements stemming from the 2017 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). This legislation mandates that the maintenance, overhaul, or repair work for the vessel be conducted exclusively in its homeport of Norfolk, Virginia. The contract is open for engagement without a specified type of set-aside and includes points of contact for further inquiries. The focus on homeport maintenance emphasizes logistical adjustments to comply with federal legislative changes while ensuring the USS Bataan's operational readiness through an extended, concentrated maintenance period.
