The Southwest Regional Maintenance Center intends to enter into a sole source purchase order with KLB Enterprises for critical repairs to the boat davit on the USS BOXER (LHD-4). The scope of work includes troubleshooting the Model FAO 10.5A Weather Deck boat davit, installing a software load, and conducting an operational test followed by a formal inspection report. KLB Enterprises was selected due to its strategic partnership with the original equipment manufacturer, Welin Lambie, making them the only identified source capable of fulfilling these urgent requirements. This procurement falls under NAICS Code 336611 with a business size standard of 1,250 employees. While the government is pursuing a sole source award, it provided a brief window for other vendors to submit documentation of their capabilities to determine if a competitive procurement would be in the government's best interest. All interested parties were required to submit their company details and certifications via email to the designated contract specialists by August 11, 2016.
