Canoe and Sourcewell are jointly soliciting proposals for a national contracting solution to supply utility poles along with related equipment, supplies, and services for use by their extensive membership base across Canada. This diverse membership includes governmental bodies, educational institutions, not-for-profit organizations, tribal governments, and other public agencies. The procurement covers a broad range of products such as wood utility poles compliant with ANSI, ASTM, CSA, and other relevant U.S. and Canadian standards, including engineered wood poles; non-wood poles like metal, concrete, and composite hybrid materials meeting multiple industry standards; and associated materials such as crossarms, braces, pole caps, anchors, identification tags, and related services essential to the offerings. Importantly, the solicitation excludes certain categories currently covered under existing Sourcewell contracts for sports lighting, smart infrastructure solutions, and public utility equipment. Proposals must be submitted exclusively through the Sourcewell Procurement Portal by June 3, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. Central Time, with no late submissions considered. The contract term is four years, with options to extend up to three additional one-year periods, and potential for further extensions under exceptional circumstances. The initiative is designed to serve a wide geographic scope, encompassing all provinces and territories in Canada and representing multiple sectors, including provincial and federal governments, local municipalities, Crown corporations, and various not-for-profit organizations. Following proposal submission, negotiations may occur. The contracting authority for this procurement is the Government of Canada’s CivicInfoBC, with questions directed to the designated contact at Sourcewell.
