AI Contract Overview
The Army Contracting Command-Orlando plans to award a Firm Fixed-Price contract for V-300 Firearms Trainers, related support equipment, and New Equipment Training for Tajikistan to VirTra Incorporated through a sole source procurement. This approach is justified under FAR 6.302-1 because VirTra is the original equipment manufacturer possessing proprietary rights, unique qualifications, and the exclusive ability to supply and support this equipment. The contract will have a 24-month period of performance and an estimated value of $1,521,000, funded by 10 U.S.C. Section 333 with funds expiring in September 2026. The government conducted market research via a Sources Sought Notice posted on SAM.gov but found VirTra to be the only capable source able to meet these technical specifications without reverse-engineering. While this notice is not a solicitation and will not result in a request for proposals, the government invites written responses within five days for firms wishing to challenge the sole-source determination, requiring them to demonstrate the ability to meet OEM specifications fully. All submissions will be reviewed solely to determine if future competitive procurement would be in the government's interest, with no reimbursement for any costs incurred in response. Responses should be sent via email by May 26, 2026, to the designated Army contacts.
