The Prototype Integration Facility of the Combat Capabilities Development Command Aviation and Missile Center at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is soliciting a Torque Measurement System (TMS) Kit and a corresponding application study under solicitation W58RGZ-25-Q-0016. The system is required to interoperate with a Variable-Geometry, Radial Outflow Compressor (VAROC) Air Dynamometer 250 and a T408 aircraft engine to support Flexible Engine Diagnostics Systems (FEDS). The TMS Kit must include the TMS module and shaft to engine components, such as spline adapters and hubs, as well as TMS plumbing, a calibration kit with weights, and electronics consisting of a signal processor, Rotastat Control, and a 90-foot cable. In addition to the hardware, the contractor must perform a V250 Application Study for the GE T408 Turboshaft Engine. This study involves evaluating the V250 Dynamometer against specific testing objectives and configuration needs, defining interface requirements regarding power, speeds, and inertia, and identifying necessary torque measurement equipment. Key deliverables for the study include special rotor considerations for inertia requirements and the generation of updated drawings and documents to enable life solutions once the appropriate torque meter system is determined. The solicitation is categorized under NAICS code 336413 and is managed by the Department of Defense.
