The contract involves the procurement of butterfly valves identified by NSN 4820-01-548-0924, with an initial quantity of 63 units and a potential option to double that quantity. This firm fixed price contract will be awarded through a formal Request for Proposal process, with a delivery requirement of 100 days after receipt of order, and the inspection and acceptance of items will occur at the origin, while delivery will be FOB destination. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued in mid-December 2012, with proposals to close in mid-January 2013, and contract award expected by mid-February 2013. Although the solicitation is not a request for competitive proposals, interested parties may express their interest and capability to fulfill the requirement or provide a commercial item within specified time frames. Awards will only be made to qualified offerors meeting prescribed standards concerning eligibility and compliance, as detailed in applicable FAR clauses.
