AI Contract Overview
The contract is for a single gate valve with NSN 4820-01-417-2800, required under solicitation SPE7MC-26-T-128L, issued by the Department of Defense through the Puget Sound office in Bremerton, Washington. Delivery is mandated within 168 days of award, and the item is classified as a Navy field-level reparable that requires strict configuration control per MIL-STD-973, meaning its technical identity must be preserved throughout its lifecycle. This is a restricted-source item, necessitating engineering source approval from the government design control activity before any offer can be accepted. Compliance with DLA Packaging Requirements and technical/quality standards referenced in the DLA Master List is mandatory, with the controlling revision determined by the solicitation or award date depending on acquisition size. The offeror must submit complete manufacturing documentation per MIL-T-31000, including all drawings, detailed process and inspection sheets, identification of critical process suppliers including forgings and castings, purchase orders if available, and a shock extension report aligned with MIL-S-901 and DI-ENVR-80706. If original OEM drawings are unavailable, an engineering analysis must be provided detailing the development methodology, and if reverse engineering was employed, a full report of sampling methods, measurements, data, tolerance justifications, and acceptance rationale must be submitted to the engineering support activity. The primary point of contact for the solicitation is Paula McClary, with responses due by July 20, 2026.
