Transport Canada, Road Safety and Motor Vehicle Regulation Directorate, among other responsibilities, monitors the industry’s self-certification with the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Act and its Regulations to ensure compliance.
To carry out this mandate, the Compliance Engineering, Vehicle and Equipment Testing Division of Transport Canada:
• selects, purchases, maintains, and assigns representative vehicle components, equipment and tires for comprehensive inspection and testing,
• plans, implements and coordinates testing of selected vehicle components, equipment, and tires, and
• conducts investigations as required ensuring full compliance with all safety performance requirements.
Compliance enforcement tests are conducted at government or independent laboratories having specialized testing facilities and possessing the technical expertise required for such testing services.
This requirement consists of 2 parts and up to 2 contracts may be awarded, 1 for each part. Bidder having the capability to bid on both parts may do so. Bidders need to state for what part they are submitting a bid and complete the appropriate evaluation criteria section.
