Vehicle Upfit

Sussex County EMS is seeking bids for the upfitting of eight 2026 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup trucks with 6.5 inch beds to be used as EMS response vehicles. The awarded vendor is responsible for picking up the vehicles from the EMS Logistics Office in Georgetown, Delaware, performing the conversion, and delivering the completed vehicles back to the same location. All work must comply with the State of Delaware Motor Vehicle Code, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, and other applicable industry standards. Key deliverables include the provision of certified scale weight documents at delivery and a five year warranty covering labor and non wearing parts, including the electric HVAC. Proposals must be submitted in a sealed envelope to Kristen McAfee by 1:00 p.m. local time on October 2, 2026. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. Vendors must provide a certificate of insurance within twenty days of the award, including general liability, business auto liability, and transit cargo insurance. Vehicles must be completed and delivered within ninety days of receipt by the vendor, or a penalty of 100 dollars per day may be assessed. Final acceptance is contingent upon a satisfactory inspection by an authorized representative of the County.
