The contract involves the removal and replacement of water and sanitary infrastructure in Edberg, Alberta, specifically along Highway 609 and 1st Avenue West. Key construction activities include horizontal directional drilling for an 8-inch sanitary main line approximately 175 meters in length, installation of smaller 4-inch sanitary service lines to multiple residential locations, and connections to existing sanitary manholes at either end of the project area. Additional work includes the installation and potential decommissioning of sanitary manholes, open excavation or directional drilling options for the water and sanitary main lines on 1st Avenue West, and the installation of a new water service line to the Village Recreation Grounds with a flushing dry hydrant. The scope also covers the installation of fire hydrants near key intersections, though their inclusion is optional and priced separately in the unit price schedule. All disturbed areas, including asphalt and landscaping, must be restored to pre-construction or better conditions at the contractor’s expense. Comprehensive cleaning, testing, backfilling, compaction, and final site finishing are required throughout the project. The contract is managed by the Village of Edberg with responses due by early April 2026, and the project emphasizes maintaining the integrity of existing infrastructure while upgrading critical water and sewer systems within the highway right-of-way and adjacent residential areas.
