Gaston County Department of Human Services-Social Services Division (DSS) is in need of a Therapeutic Visitation Center Substance Abuse Counselor. The intent of the RFQ is to obtain qualified and competent personnel on a timely basis. Interested vendors should be able to provide staff meeting minimum qualifications as defined by Gaston County DSS. Gaston County DSS reserves the right to make awards to one or more vendors as best meets the agency’s needs. Gaston County DSS does not guarantee any minimum amount of services. Any contract award is contingent upon the availability of funds to purchase specified services.GOALS AND OBJECTIVESThe selected vendor or vendors will be required to provide the following for parents of children participating in the program:Complete mental health and substance abuse assessments for adultsDevelop individual treatment plansMonitor progress and treatment plan as needed.Provide one-on-one counseling and group therapy sessions focusing on recovery and relapseprevention.Provide education to parents on the effects of substance use on family dynamics and childdevelopment.Work in collaboration with Gaston County DHHS social workers, and visitation center therapistsand case managers, while following HIPA guidelines.Individuals and Organizations receiving federal funds must ensure compliance with certaincertifications required by federal laws and regulations.
