Notice Type: Pre-Solicitation THIS NOTICE IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY, IAW FAR 5.204, PUBLICIZING - PRE-SOLICITATION. THE GOVERNMENT POSTS THIS NOTICE OF INTENT TO COMPETE A FIRM FIXED PRICE SOLICITATION FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF STATE. THIS IS A PRE-SOLICITATION ONLY - NO QUOTES AND OR PROPOSALS ARE REQUIRED AT THIS TIME. THIS IS ONLY A PUBLIC NOTICE FOR THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENT. THE PROJECT DESCRIPTION IS AS FOLLOWS: The Department of State (DoS), Bureaus of Information Resource Management (IRM), Enterprise Server Operations Center (ESOC) and Global IT Modernization (GITM) in a collaborative effort are currently looking to acquire an enterprise license for a server virtualization product to support two major virtualization efforts within the Department. The first of these is to support the Enterprise Server Operations Center (ESOC), which operates well over 2000 servers for a variety of domestic bureaus. The second is for the Global IT Modernization (GITM) Program to implement server virtualization at overseas posts. In addition, the Department wishes to include the option to purchase licenses for desktop virtualization products from the same product line as part of the same enterprise license agreement.
