The work to be undertaken consists of voluntary construction seismic upgrades to City Hall Tower. The new construction consists of new grade beams and a reinforced concrete shear wall in the south Tower foundation, new steel haunches in several locations below the steel moment frame beam connections on the seventh floor, and replacement/relocation of several architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection elements that conflict with the new construction.
