VSG Contract -Packaging

Huayi Wang is engaged under a contract with the Food and Drug Administration to develop critical challenge tests aimed at evaluating the effectiveness of industrial recycling processes for polyolefin plastic packaging in removing chemical contaminants introduced during consumer use and misuse. These tests are designed to generate scientifically rigorous data that will support the FDA’s regulatory review of recycled polyolefins intended for use in food packaging, specifically in assessing premarket notification consultation submissions. The project is instrumental in establishing validated methodologies to ensure the safety of recycled materials entering the food contact supply chain, directly contributing to the agency’s mission of protecting public health.
