The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), through Network Contracting Office (NCO) 8, plans to award a fixed-price sole source contract to Interior Fusion, LLC for the rental of specialty medical equipment, primarily bariatric beds and related supplies, at the VA Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. The contract is expected to be awarded around October 13, 2022, with a performance period of six months following the issuance of the notice to proceed. This sole source award is justified due to the imminent expiration of the current contract on October 31, 2022, and the critical need to avoid any interruptions that could negatively impact patient care. The procurement follows FAR regulations allowing a non-competitive award to one responsible source in order to prevent unacceptable delays. The service area for this contract includes both the Orlando VA Medical Center and its Community Living Center. The NAICS code assigned to this contract is 339113, with a size standard of 750 employees, and the applicable product service code is W065. Although this notice of intent does not constitute a request for proposals, other responsible vendors are invited to submit offers demonstrating their capability to supply specialty beds and related equipment, provided such submissions are received within one day of the notice’s publication. All responses will be reviewed to determine whether to pursue a competitive procurement, but the decision to proceed non-competitively rests solely with the government. The contracting officer managing this requirement is Norbert Reed III, reachable via email.
