Full Description

Wastewater treatment processes generate residual solids, commonly referred to as biosolids, as a byproduct of treating domestic and industrial wastewater. These biosolids must be managed, transported, and disposed of or beneficially reused in a manner that complies with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations. The Utility Systems Department operates two wastewater treatment facilities that continuously produce biosolids through secondary treatment processes. Due to limited on-site storage capacity and regulatory requirements governing handling and disposal, routine and reliable off-site hauling and disposal services are essential to maintaining uninterrupted plant operations and regulatory compliance.
