The Fraser Valley Regional District is soliciting proposals for the purchase of one new or nearly new Water Tender to support the Chilliwack River Valley Volunteer Fire Department, with an urgent delivery requirement. This procurement is part of the district’s broader commitment to sustaining rural fire response capabilities across seven volunteer fire departments operating 24/7 across 11 fire halls, many of which also provide critical services to nearby First Nations communities under service agreements. The water tender is essential for enhancing local firefighting capacity in remote areas where access to water infrastructure may be limited. Interested proponents must submit their responses by the deadline of July 17, 2026, at 9:00 PM Pacific Time, under solicitation number BCRFP-26018, which was posted on July 9, 2026. Proposals should demonstrate the ability to deliver a vehicle that meets operational needs for rapid deployment in rural terrain, with consideration given to durability, capacity, and readiness for immediate use. The contracting authority for this RFP is dbozekfortin@fvrd.ca, and while the notice is published through the Canada Buys portal, the procurement is managed by the Fraser Valley Regional District, not a federal agency, despite the incorrect classification under "FEDERAL" in the metadata.
