The City of Fontana, Code Compliance and Public Works Department, is requesting Weed Abatement and Trash Removal Services on an ongoing basis for a potential Five (5) year contract. The City is responsible for the weed abatement of properties with hazardous growth not maintained during the spring and summer seasons. The City contracts with qualified contractors to bring specifically identified parcels into compliance with the Fontana Municipal Code. The City will be awarding multiple contracts for Weed Abatement Services. Code Compliance could have up to four (4) Contractors and Public Works two (2) Contractors, but the City has the right to increase or decrease the number of Contractors.Code Compliance and Public Works Department will be evaluating each Contractor based on their department’s requirements. For a Contractor to be considered for both the Code Compliance and Public Works contract, Contractor must demonstrate to the City that it has the resources and the acknowledge to provide the quality of service to both departments.Code Compliance has four (4) Weed Abatement Zones. The weed abatement work generated by the Code Compliance is very often time sensitive. They are required to obtain warrants from the court to enter private property and affect abatements. These warrants have expiration dates where the work must be done, or the warrant is no longer be valid. It is very important to maintain the integrity of the Code Compliance cases at all times.Public Works weed abatement services involves various city owned property, shall include furnishing all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and incidentals, unless otherwise specified; to maintain and complete the project in compliance with the Specifications and to the satisfaction of the Public Works Department.
