The U.S. Coast Guard Surface Forces Logistics Center plans to issue a solicitation for the overhaul of one Welin Lambie 5.0A Series Dual Point Boat Davit, with delivery required to Baltimore, Maryland. The government currently believes that Welin Lambie Ltd. is the sole capable supplier due to proprietary technical information and the need for exact OEM parts ensuring proper fit and function. This acquisition is expected to proceed as a sole source to Welin Lambie Ltd. However, the Coast Guard is seeking information from other potential sources that can obtain the necessary proprietary data from Welin Lambie Ltd. and demonstrate the capability to overhaul the davit. Interested firms must submit detailed evidence of their engineering and manufacturing capabilities within five days of the announcement, including prior satisfactory production of similar parts. Additionally, the Coast Guard is inquiring if any firms are certified as HUBZone or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses and intend to submit an offer, as the acquisition could potentially be set aside for these categories under applicable FAR clauses. Respondents for such set-asides must provide sufficient information by the stated deadline to facilitate a decision, with failure to do so possibly resulting in a small business set-aside. Any updates regarding set-aside determinations will be posted publicly. The contract specialist managing this acquisition is Bethanie Bryan, who can be contacted via phone or email for further inquiries.
