Well 4 TCP and Nitrate Mitigation Project

The Well 4 TCP and Nitrate Mitigation Project involves replacing outdated and failing water meters with new water meter spacer tubes to maintain the functionality of existing water service lines without altering or installing new piping. New meter boxes and meters will be installed within the County’s right-of-way to improve access and operational efficiency, while the original meter boxes will remain in place and not be removed. No additional equipment or infrastructure changes beyond what was originally specified in the Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Plan are required, as the existing systems are sufficient to meet project objectives. The initiative remains focused on reducing contamination from TCP and nitrate in the Mettler County Water District’s drinking water supply, ensuring continued compliance with regulatory standards and safeguarding public water quality. All work is confined to the designated area around Well 4 in California, with no expansion of service lines or modifications to the existing water distribution network.
