AI Contract Overview

This contract pertains to Wide Area Network (WAN) Communication Services for CMSD facilities in Ohio, emphasizing the provision of highly reliable and resilient network connectivity. The services require the use of diverse access pathways from the carrier's point of presence to each CMSD location, ensuring completely separate routes into and out of each facility to maximize redundancy and minimize service disruption risks. Additionally, multiple carrier-grade infrastructure providers must be employed wherever available to support WAN service delivery, mandating at least two independent providers to reduce the risk of outages due to a single carrier failure. The contract specifies the use of a carrier-grade fiber network equipped with high-quality routing hardware and traffic prioritization to meet defined service level agreements. The fiber network will originate at a centralized fiber aggregation router located at the Central Communications Termination Area in Cleveland and terminate at building-level routers at each CMSD site. All necessary routing equipment, optics, and hardware for WAN connectivity fall within the contract’s scope. However, certain services are expressly excluded, including Internet Service Provider (ISP) or Direct Internet Access (DIA) services, local area network (LAN) equipment or services within individual sites, end-user devices, desktop support, and primary ISP services managed by other entities such as OARNet and Zayo. The solicitation was posted in January 2026 with a response deadline in February 2026, managed by the Ohio Division of Information Technology, and provides primary contact through the Executive Director and a secondary contact through the Purchasing Analyst.
