The City of Guelph is soliciting tenders for emergency spill response, hazardous waste collection, and disposal services to protect the natural environment and the city's sanitary and storm sewer systems. The contract is scheduled to begin on January 1, 2027, for an initial two-year term, with the option for the City to renew for up to three additional one-year terms through December 31, 2031. The successful bidder must provide all necessary labor, materials, and specialized equipment, including a hot water flusher unit capable of reaching 80 degrees Celsius, a five-tonne capacity drum truck, and a skid steer loader with at least a 750 kg operating capacity. Compliance with strict regulatory standards is mandatory, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Transportation of Dangerous Commodities Act, and Ministry of the Environment Conservation and Parks Regulation 347. Bidders must maintain significant insurance coverages, including five million dollars in commercial general liability, two million dollars in automobile liability, and one million dollars in environmental and pollution insurance. Hidalgo County is soliciting bids under RFB No. 26-0557-11-06-07 for the provision of biohazardous and medical waste disposal services and supplies. The scope of work includes the collection, packaging, transportation, treatment, incineration, and disposal of regulated medical waste, biohazardous and infectious waste, formalin preserved tissue specimens, and applicable chemical waste materials for various county departments on an as-needed basis. The National Greening Fire Team (GFT) is conducting market research to identify vendors that have the skills and experience to provide On-Site Incident Recycling services at wildland fire camps across the United States in the future. Information describing the On-Site Incident Recycling program can be found at: https://www.fs.usda.gov/managing-land/fire/sustainable-ops/incident-recycling. If your company is interested in providing such services, please complete the questionnaire at: Survey Link: https://feedback.gsa.gov/jfe/preview/SV_0dpvkY9XWAdEmI6?Q_CHL=preview&Q_SurveyVersionID=current On-site recycling for wildland fire camps (incidents) has been quite successful so far and is growing in popularity. Over the past three years, on-site incident recycling services have been provided in a limited number of geographic areas (Pacific Northwest, California, and the Southwest) through a Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA). We are investigating the feasibility of expanding the BPA (nationwide). The National GFT Homepage has videos that offer a quick overview of the program, and you can learn on the GFT Incident Recycling page as well! Please complete the survey if you are interested, and expect to be capable of, providing on-site incident recycling services in 2022 (this year) and in future years (in any number of geographic areas).
