The contract involves the procurement of wing and fin subassemblies for the AIM-120X and CATM-120X series of Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles, under a Total Small Business Set-Aside with a Lowest Price, Technically Acceptable source selection method. Originally structured as two separate solicitations targeting proven and unproven vendors, the acquisition strategy has been revised to a single inclusive solicitation, FA8556-26-R-B013, to promote broader and fairer vendor participation. The requirement demands significant upfront investment, first article testing, and extended preparation prior to full-scale manufacturing, with technical data packages to be provided upon solicitation release. Specific part numbers and identifiers for wings and fins are listed, and detailed drawings have been incorporated to level the competitive field. Contractors seeking classification as proven sources must submit waiver requests within ten calendar days after the final solicitation is issued, and the government will respond to all such requests within five days of receiving complete documentation, encouraging early and thorough submissions. The opportunity is open to small businesses, with the North American Industry Classification System code 336419, and performance will be centered at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. Proposals are due by May 18, 2025, with point of contact information provided for inquiries.

Amendment 1
This synopsis hereby removes the acqusition strategy of a dual solicitation for this requirement. All language and references related to a dual solicitation or separate competitive track is hereby rescinded.
The upcoming solicitation will now follow a single, inclusive process designed to encourage broad participation from all capable vendors. The updated single solicitation number is now FA8556-26-R-B013 and will be released in due time.
This synospsis also hereby amends to incorporate detailed drawings of the Advanced-Medium-Range-Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) wings and fins. This update is intended to foster a more competitive playing field for all potential offerors. Furthermore, all waiver submissions to allow for a classification to be a proven source must be received by the Government no later than ten (10) calendar days after the issuance of the final solicitation. The Government, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to request additional information from any contractor requesting a waiver. The Government will provide its determination on all waiver requests within five (5) calendar days of receipt of all necessary information, as determined by the Government. Contractors are strongly encouraged to submit their waiver request early and with sufficient detailed information to support their request as to allow them adequate time to prepare their proposals based upon their respective waiver determination
