The City of Columbus, through its Department of Public Utilities and Division of Water Reclamation, is seeking a qualified engineering firm to provide on-demand general engineering services for the WWTF Upgrades - General Program 6, identified by Capital Improvement Project number 650360-100004. The contract, issued under solicitation RFQ033106, is structured as a one-year initial term with three one-year renewal options, totaling a potential value of $4,800,000. The primary objective is to serve as the Overall Engineering Consultant for the Treatment Engineering section, delivering professional services in civil, structural, environmental, and surveying disciplines to maintain and upgrade critical wastewater infrastructure, including two major water reclamation plants, a biosolids composting facility, sewer maintenance operations centers, and over 100 remote telemetry sites that operate around the clock. Work will be assigned via task orders within a four-year window beginning on the date of the purchase order, with services required at various outdoor and remote locations and potentially on an emergency or after-hours basis. The contract mandates strict compliance with Ohio state and Columbus city regulations, including adherence to O.R.C. Section 3517.13 regarding campaign contributions for the contract duration and one year thereafter. The engineer must carry comprehensive insurance coverage, including $1 million in general liability, $500,000 in property damage per occurrence, valuable papers insurance, and professional liability insurance, with the City named as an additional insured on all policies except professional liability and workers’ compensation.
