AI Contract Overview

The contract outlines the Air Force's intent to award a sole source procurement to Transport International Pool Inc., operating as GE Modular Space, for a one-year lease of an 11-trailer relocatable office complex at the Electronic Warfare Complex located at Edwards Air Force Base, California. This lease supports the interim facilities requirement for the 412th Electronic Warfare Group while new construction for the West Base Engineering Facility/Electronic Combat Engineering Facility is underway. The trailers, configured as a single complex (Building 1030A), have been approved and installed following site preparation by the Army Corps of Engineers, and the lease extends through December 2009. Under the terms, the contractor is responsible for maintaining the trailers in good operating condition, including preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and flooring systems, with a required maintenance response time within 48 hours. While this is a sole source action, the Air Force invited other interested parties to submit capability statements by September 26, 2006, to determine if competitive procurement is necessary. Absent any affirmative responses, the sole source award will proceed. The contract emphasizes that tear down costs are excluded from the acquisition, and detailed specifications such as unit dimensions and lease conditions are documented in the Statement of Work and applicable referenced documents.
