The National Park Service (NPS) is requesting separate and individual proposals to lease one or more of two historical buildings, located in Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park, Skagway Alaska. Starting Friday, July 31, 2009, for each of the two buildings noted below separate requests for proposals (RFP's) will be available on the Internet at http://www.nps.gov/klgo/parkmgmt/businesswithpark.htm , or upon request from the park offices. The buildings are wood frame, historic commercial structures originally dating from the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898. These buildings have either been rehabilitated or reconstructed and the interior spaces will have been recently remodeled with new finish treatments appropriate to the historic period of significance. Proposals to lease for periods of 5-10 years starting April 1, 2010 will be considered. Food or beverage preparation or service, and public overnight accommodation uses are not compatible with the design of, and preservation goals for, these buildings. Arcades, the sale of alcohol or tobacco products, and entertainment inappropriate for a family audience are also unacceptable. Proposals for such uses will not be considered. Proposers must accept the interior floor, wall, ceiling, and general lighting treatments "as-is" and without further modification. Other limitations on uses apply. The minimum annual rents are as noted: The Red Front Building, 399b Broadway, $44,500 minimum lease amount, 927 square feet gross building area. Pantheon Building, 399a Broadway, $49,300 minimum lease amount, 1026 square foot gross building area.
