The U.S. Army Project Manager for Close Combat Systems, in coordination with the Joint Munitions & Lethality and Life Cycle Management Command Acquisition Center, is hosting an Industry Day focused exclusively on the XM216 Countermeasure Flare. Scheduled for October 21, 2008, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rockaway, New Jersey, this event is designed for interested companies to engage in discussions and seek clarifications regarding the XM216 Countermeasure Flare Performance Specification. The specification document itself will be made available on or before October 1, 2008, but access is controlled, requiring companies to request it in advance by submitting a specific form and adhering to strict distribution and reproduction restrictions under the authority of the DoD. Participation is limited to a maximum of five representatives per company, and advance registration must be completed by October 14, 2008, through formal written request or email to the designated government contact, Stephanie Resch. The Industry Day is solely for informational purposes as part of a Sources Sought Announcement; it does not serve as a solicitation or commitment to award a contract. Any future procurement efforts based on this initiative will be formally announced through separate solicitation notices with more detailed technical requirements.
