The work consist of dredging 200,000 cubic yards from Sta. 0+000 to -6+000, thereby 6,000 feet long and ranging from 250 to 150 feet wide with a required depth of 46 feet mean low tide (MLT) and a 2 foot over depth. If Option No. 1 is exercised it will include approximately 147,000 cubic yards of dredging from Sta. 6+000 to 2+328.82, thereby 3,671.18 feet long and 125 feet wide with a required depth of 44 feet MLT and 1 foot over depth. Both sections of the ship channel to be dredged is maintenance material to be used for Beach Nourishment at Beach Placement Area DMPA No. 1 and Beach Placement Area DMPA No. 5. Completion time is 85 calendar days with a production rate of 350,000 cubic yards per month. The contractor shall complete all activities on the beach by February 28, 2011, due to heavy tourism in Spring and the nesting turtle window starting approximately March 15, 2011.
