The project consists of, but is not limited to, the following: replace the existing hot rail with new crane electrification conductor bar system; replace all electrical enclosures on the bulkhead lifter and make accessible to electrician for future maintenance; replace the existing single hot rail shoe system with a dual (redundant) hot rail shoe system; replace existing bulkhead lifter electrical human interface devices (Master Control Station), including control console, control cabinets, and bulkhead position and level displays with new, modern electrical position and level displays and sensors; replace hoist cables for each 15-ton hoist; install limit switches to stop bridge travel before bulkhead lifter hits the existing mechanical stops; install a slip clutch motor on bulkhead pin cable reels to take up slack cable when hoist is in operation; replace hoist brake and make accessible for future maintenance; incorporate any proposed methods to eliminate moisture from the existing gear boxes; remove and dispose of asbestos-containing bulkhead lifter gate machinery brake shoes; remove and dispose of lead paint on dam structure as necessary to complete the work.
