Full Description

The work under this contract includes the hydraulic dredging of sedimentation from the upstream spillway channel at Oahe Dam beginning at centerline of the the Spillway Gate Control Structure (station 26+00) and extending approximately 1700 feet upstream (station 9+00) to the reservoir as shown on the drawings. All soil materials dredged from the upstream channel shall be deposited in the dredge waste material area as shown on the drawings. The work associated with the upstream spillway channel shall also consist of re-sloping/re-grading the side slopes of the channel, construction of a breakwater and the placement of rock (riprap) slope protection as shown on the drawings. The work in the dredge waste material area shall include the construction of two earthen embankments (upper and lower) and each with its own drainage structure and riprapped-lined outlet channel. All fill necessary for the construction of the embankments, stability berms and berm fingers shall come from the lower and upper pool excavation areas as shown on the drawings. All excavated material in excess of what is required to construct the embankments, stability berms and berm fingers, shall be deposited the the areas designated for excess excavation material as shown on the drawings and in accordance with the scope of work.
