NOTE: Face masks required for all non-vaccinated individuals attending the site visit. ************************ PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE. The government will award the contract in June 2021. The performance period for this contract was anticipated to start early July 2021 and be completed by September 2021, a window of approximately 90 calendar days. Weather at the Mora area in Olympic National Park is in the wetter side of the park, not far from the Hoh Rainforest, and summer months are the optimal months for completing exterior construction with as little rain on average compared to rest of the year. However, given the timing of this posting, it is anticipated that the Notice to Proceed will be issued early July so that a contractor can hopefully start roofing work by mid-to-late July or August and finish by end of September or by mid-October 2021. If the situation arises that materials have significantly long lead times that prevent work from starting in July or August 2021, then Government may need to postpone until early Summer 2022 (May/June/July 2022) via a Seasonal Shutdown period that would go into effect as soon as decision is made, by written notice from the Contracting Officer. If a seasonal shutdown period goes into effect, then the Contractor would be expected to obtain all necessary materials per approved product submittals so that when the notification from the Contracting Officer to resume work is issued, Contractor will be able to mobilize and start work within 10 days of receiving the notice. Also, if a seasonal shutdown period goes into effect, then issuance of the Notice to Proceed would also be postponed until the seasonal shutdown period ends. PLEASE NOTE: The total time stated on the SF-1442 Solicitation form (item 11) shows 90 calendar days from Notice of Award, however, in Attachment no. 3 in Section F.2 the total time is 365 calendar days from Notice of Award which includes time built in for a possible seasonal shutdown. Government preference is to have work accomplished Summer/early Fall 2021 if possible. Refer to Attachment no. 3, Section F.2, for full details regarding period of performance. ************************ OTHER INFO. This project is being solicited and awarded as a total (100%) Small Business set-aside. The NAICS code for this solicitation is 238160, Roofing Contractors, with an associated small business size standard of $16.5 million. The magnitude of construction for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. This magnitude range is required in accordance with FAR 36.204 and is not the Government's estimate. A single firm-fixed price construction contract will be awarded as a result of the solicitation. ************************ CONTACT THE CONTRACTING OFFICER FOR ALL QUESTIONS, sending emailed questions to contact@example.gov (preferred questions be submitted in writing sent by email) or call Phaedra at 360-55-3009 and if leaving a voicemail message be sure to include your name and a call-back phone number. When emailing questions, please also cc: contact@example.gov. Please reference the solicitation number in the subject line of the email, as "140P8321Q0033/QUESTION."
