This project consists the rebuilding in kind of an approximately twenty foot long section of granite and brick canal wall that serves also as part of the foundation of a former textile mill, a multi-story brick structure located atop the wall. The area of foundation requiring rebuilding/ resetting consist primarily of two monolithic granite piers, two brick piers, an approximately thirty sq. ft. area of stone wall, and a footing supporting them at the bottom of the canal. The project also requires providing the temporary support needed to carry the load of the building above while performing the work. Arrangements have been made to drain the canal to accommodate the work, and to allow for a pre-proposal site inspection during late July or early August 2005. The date of this site inspection will be determined and scheduled approximately 48 hours in advance of the meeting. All offerors interested in attending the site inspection meeting, which will be the only opportunity to see the normally underwater area of the work, shall contact the Lowell National Historical Park by telephone at +1 (555) 000-0000, x104 or email at contact@example.gov to be notified of the time and date set for this inspection. Construction performance period is 120 calendar days. Estimated construction range: Between $100,000 and $250,000. NAICS code 237990, $28.5 million.
