Zeiss EVO-15 Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Maintenance

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing, under the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer of the Department of the Treasury, is seeking information through a Request for Information to support the future maintenance of a Zeiss EVO-15 Scanning Electron Microscope located at the Annex Building, 301 14th Street SW, Washington, DC 20228. This RFI is explicitly not a solicitation and no contract award will result directly from responses; it is issued solely for information and planning purposes to assess industry capabilities and market interest. The anticipated contract, if initiated, would be a Firm-Fixed-Price arrangement with a one-year base period and four optional one-year extension periods. The required services include one annual preventive maintenance visit covering power supplies, vacuum systems, electrical safety checks, video systems, and key detectors including Secondary Electron, Backscatter Electron, and Variable Pressure Secondary Electron, along with testing, calibration, alignment, and servicing to maintain functionality. Contractors must respond within 48 business hours to service requests, provide remote and/or on-site technical support, replace non-consumable parts except for those damaged by misuse, and submit annual reporting on findings and corrective actions. Respondents are required to identify their company name, address, Unique Entity Identifier, point of contact, business size under applicable NAICS codes including 811210, and socioeconomic status such as Small Business, HUBZone, SDVOSB, WOSB, or 8(a). They must also declare their relationship to the Original Equipment Manufacturer, Carl Zeiss Microscopy, as either the OEM, an authorized service provider, or an independent provider, with detailed documentation of access to OEM parts, software, documentation, and trained personnel. Experience supporting Zeiss EVO-series SEMs, specifically the EVO-15 model, and comparable instruments within the last five years must be provided. Responses must be submitted electronically in PDF format to JerKendra Holloway at jerkendra.holloway@bep.gov no later than June 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. EST, and are limited to ten pages, excluding supporting capability statements. The government will not reimburse any costs incurred in preparing submissions.
